The Carlsbad Marathon is held in beautiful Carlsbad, California and runners will enjoy the scenic beach routes.Make sure to train for hills to get your body through the Mile 7-10 uphill battle.This is where many runners hit the walk because they we’re away of the giant uphill battle.
The marathon covers the inland parts of Carlsbad as well as the coaster region.The race starts and finishes at Westfield Plaza Camino Real located at 2525 El Camino Real, Carlsbad, Ca 92008.The first stretch of the course will head right for the coast, into the village of Carlsbad. After going through the village of Carlsbad, marathoners will head south to Palomar Airport Road, PAR. After an inbound loop on PAR, you'll return to the coast and head south on Carlsbad Blvd. At La Costa Avenue, it's a quick U-Turn and back to the finish line. This is the very hilly area, so be prepared and pace yourself correctly.The highest point of elevation is 300 feet above sea level, reached after a 3 mile gradual climb between miles 7-10.
